I don’t know if this is what you mean, but once in a while I feel a sudden jolt of clarity like ... holy shit, I’m an adult. I’m whatever I was supposed to grow up to be. I have bills to pay, responsibilities to answer to. All my ‘me’ time is now either work or chores.
Not even sure there’s much of a silver lining there.

Feeling down after work today, rather than spend the evening packing my clothes to move out of my own house, I cooked and ate a tasty dinner, played with my dogs, read a bit, and listened to good music I didn’t even know I had. All of it was nice, but the last step fixed me right up. Sometimes it’s the simple things. Dogs are happy and my ears are intrigued by good sounds: good vibes.

I know the feeling sir...my term position at the school I am at ends on the 30th, then I have no job other than substituting again in the fall. No job for the summer either as I don’t want to go back to the donut shop (it SUCKS working there) and the library I work at cut my hours with no warning...
Pretty frustrating and depressing when you have no idea where you’ll be in the next few months or even years.
That being said, it’s a sunny, warm morning and it’s a 40 minute drive to the school. I’m going to go get in my crappy ecobox and enjoy the drive with the windows open and the music cranked :)

That was me yesterday. I have no idea what was up. I was super depressed. My whole day felt like it was designed to stress me out. It was weird. I’m much better today, though. You will be much better tomorrow.

Maybe take a couple days off? Spend those days doing all the things you’re always putting off because of lack of time. Definitely spend some time outside, go up to a state park for the day.
We all look for fulfillment, if work isn’t doing it for you right now (and let’s be honest more often than not it doesn’t) then its a good time to take a break...if you can.
