A Justin Timberlake concert is forcing the rescheduling of qualifying for the USGP. So instead of running early afternoon as they always do, they will run from 4-5pm to encourage more fans to stay for the concert, which bones the teams and relegates the mechanics to a longer day. This is stupid.

I can’t claim to be a fan, but I admit he’s a consummate showman. As a racer, it bugs me that schedules and crews get pushed for stuff like this though.

Actually, the concert didn’t force a schedule change at all given that it was scheduled to start long after qualifying was supposed to be over (indeed, I suspect the concert was scheduled to make sure it didn’t conflict with qualifying). F1's owners decided to make a schedule change for ... reasons. So put this blame on F1, not Nick Jonas or Justin Bieber or whomever. In other words, Liberty Media made some pretty good changes since taking over, but this is not one of them!

Me too. I like it there, worked at COTA 3 times now. I prefer it in the Spring though, working on hot cars all day in the heat and humidity sucks.

I haven’t been since 2013, just my best friend and I. We had a BLAST. We stayed with his uncle so we hand extra funds for debauchery. Went to a flux pavilion show annnnnd then my debit card got ripped of by a skimmer at some corner store.
