My family’s always had a saying about dogs: If a dog is nasty and not safe around other people or dogs, it’s not the dog, but the people who raised it. Plain and simple.
Those who treat dogs poorly and make them into mean creatures don’t deserve to have them in the first place.

Every Pitbull I’ve ever encountered has been pretty chill. My neighbor’s Doberman Pinchers were fucking awful though. Aggressive and yippie, luckily they were small enough to punt if they got too aggressive.

Part of it is that the news reports every single pit bull attack. Here are stories from the Dallas area just in the past week. (one is a national story, but I’ve heard reports about it on 1 tv station and 3 radio stations).

Every boxer I’ve ever met has been a totally chill and sweet dog! One in particular I remember was pretty much afraid of its own shadow and stalked around the house like a panther, which looks really odd on a boxer, I think he did in hopes of no one noticing him.

Most pits I’ve met have been adorable, calm and friendly.
It’s the ones that either have a troubled past (possibly due to bad owners) or the ones that have bad owners that seem to be mean.
I lived (roommates dog) with one that was very timid and sometimes for no apparent reason took to disliking certain people. Whenever he did that, we had to lock him away. He was a rescue and I imagine in a previous life he was very poorly treated. But he was fantastic with people he knew, he cuddled up to me all the time. Hard to own a dog like that though!

We’re they mini pins? It seems like things get messed up when you screw with a breed like that. All dobes I’ve known have been big happy goofs, with patience of saints for my dog desperately trying to get them to play. My dog’s got a thing for Dobermans.

Pitbulls were bred for taking care of children. They’re the nanny dog. Any dog can be vivacious, and there’s a lot more breeds out there that will do way more damage if they decide to. Don’t let your fear cause ignorance.

If he really wanted to, so could a Lab, Retriever, German Shepherd, or Greatness dane. Or any other large breed dog. The fact of the matter is that dogs learn submission by training, not because all but one magical breed aren’t big enough to eat us.

A) the last mention of a specific breeding was in 410.
B) everything negative after that references their training. If you have still have to train a dog for something hundreds of years later, it’s not in their blood.
C) none of this refutes the nanny dog
D) pitbull411? So if I made a website called douchebag411 and linked it and it said “look in the mirror” you’d trust it? There’s more history in support of the nanny dog than against it.

I notice you didnt find anything to back up your nanny dog theory. Nor do you understand dog breeding. A dog bred is bred for traits across the breed. Throw a stick and a golden retriever will bring it back most of the time without even being trained. Now pitbulls being bred for aggression to other animals if they don’t fit that trait it’s a bad pit bull.
