Well as long as its stupid AND it works, carry on! I suppose if you had removed your sun visors, this would be the only way to use one of these.

This looks like something an engineer would do. Because technically it’s more efficient than putting it inside the glass. And that was a lot of effort to get those wipers to stop midway like that. Hmmm

That’s what everybody in Europe does with those reflective thingies. I just didn’t want to be yelled at for being stupid as it happened the last I politely pointed out that this is the correct way to use them.

Note the cutout for the rearview mirror (upside - down, naturally), as well as the size of them clearly being made for the interior. I ’ m not disputing that a version could be made for the exterior, just that every single one I ’ ve seen for my entire life was designed for interior use. And they ’ re not very weatherproof or secure outside.

EDIT: I see online that exterior versions do exist — and I like them! This particular one is definitely not of that variety, though.

I mean... that’s technically much more efficient. Just like how blinds should go on the outside of windows, but people in the US don’t do that either.

On the bright side, I know where you can get one of those protectors for free!

The focus of this post is all wrong. That’s a clean S60R. Did it have a spaceball?

All that attention to detail, and they put the rear view mirror cut out at the bottom.

I actually have to stop the wipers like that on my wife’s X3 to flip them up in the winter with snow/ice, etc. overnight. I’ve got a system now, it’s not too bad. But then what happens is, if I start the car with them still up and bump the wiper control, the rotate down until they hit the top edge of the hood, scrape the paint a little more, and slam down onto the glass violently. It’s great.

Yep, been there. Also, when cleaning the car, sometimes I’ll leave the wipers extended (for cleaning) and pop the hood. On my old car, there was no collision. On most cars, there is. Whoops.

The ones I know have straps which you jam into the doors.

Ahh, yeah, distinctly different. These are only made to be mounted inside, with the sun visors folded down to hold them in place.
