Ran into this guy at a gas station yesterday. Didn’t realize until he drove away and I noticed the stanceworks sticker as he pulled out and I remembered the car from the site. Super nice guy, and a great looking car in person. Brake calipers are even painted teal to match the interior.

My first thought was I like this unlike what I thought was most of the other bullshit on StanceWorks. But I went through several pages of posts and I’m struggling to find much bullshit, other than the hipster pretentiousness. But the cars are decent. Some are very nice. I’m shocked.
Well, except for this POS.
Still, fuck StanceWorks for all the bullshit they’ve popularized over the years. It’ll take longer to recover from your past misdeeds, motherfuckers!

Their photos are also really well done. Even if the subjects are sometimes questionable. It’s hard to hate them at times.

Their photos are easy to hate. As a photo nerd, I despise their constant instagrammy color filtering and extreme shallow depth of field in every single shot. Some of the photos look good but like the cars, are often too exaggerated.

Their imsa race coverage is interesting, especially as jalopnik’s is non-existent. They’re doing some off road stuff now. It’s not a bad site, and they’re far from the only ones featuring stance. I figure by this time, they have so many cars to choose from as their reputation has grown that they can choose from the cream of the crop.

Like I said, I was surprised with how much of their recent content is up my alley, although the pictures are still too instagramified and the attitude is still too much waxed mustache pinky-up microbrew sipping.
I’m still salty at how many cars were ruined in the name of StanceWorks.
And that’s just the BMWs on a quick google image search for StanceWorks.
