It’s not for me, at all. Waaaay too garish, I thought it was a hyper modded STI at first.

I withheld judgement until I saw on up close, but the Golf R is more my speed for a super hatch

I very much agree with you. The whole appeal of the Type R’s of yore was the subtle badassery. Almost sleeperish. Very much like a Golf R or GTI

I don’t know why they changed the formula and decided to go over the top for the last couple gens... But they’re now truly hideous cars.

At least we’ll always have the classics.

Depends on what you want. The Golf R is very under the radar except to VWBros. The CTR is obnoxious.

I think too many grownups are too timid about not wanting to drive obnoxious cars because they think it’ll make them look juvenile. Unless it is literally part of your job to show up in front of customers in your car and you need to project a certain image, embrace the obnoxiousness!

EK9, the original is almost always the best. The E30 M3, the R32 GTR (original “modern” GTR), etc.
