Walking through the neighborhood last night with wife and boy and passed by a new looking Ford Escape when something caught my eye. There was some kind of shroud over the entire brake disc/caliper assembly. It looked like white plastic. The rear brakes had no such thing. Everything else about the vehicle looked absolutely normal.

Any idea what it was?

Plastic guards placed over the brakes to keep them from rusting before they get to the dealer. They are supposed to be removed before the car is sold but sometimes they don’t.

I wondered if it was some kind of transport protection. Interesting.

I have personally never seen one with more than 2. You would think they would either get none or all of them.

They’re not supposed to be removed until customer delivery either.

What are the chances? It may be the same Ford.
