Apparently the Leafs and Aviva teamed up to offer discounted insurance rates to people in the Toronto area. I got a quote, it’s less than I’m paying BelairDirect and they take a bit of beating.

I’m smack in the middle of my term so I’m not doing anything with them for now, but just a heads up that the offer is out there.

Car for your time.

Oh so that’s what it was... I was on Kanetix the other day and wondering what the heck was “Maple Leaf Insurance”.

Number still came out that my current insurer (TDMM) was cheapest for me though. $2015 a year for 2 cars fully active.

That’s how I found it too :)

I was with TD at first. Second year they tried to jack me by $1500. Called them to give them my “fuck-you’s” and I’ve been with Belair ever since.

Kinja'd!!!

This is me since the cup final... even though summer only starts today. I’ve still compulsively visiting Sportsnet but it’s a wasteland now...

I mean, there’s other sports on there, but I have great difficulty caring

due to work I was pretty invested in the NBA finals but I was looking at the protected lists for NHL over the weekend... not many surprises there except lol Mrazek

Yeah... that was a bit bizarre.

I was actually in the reverse scenario, moved from Belair to TD. Somehow I managed to get the multi-line discount since my landlord/roommate was with TD so it was a massive drop. Kept it ever since.

Does the offer apply to Sens fans as well?

Can’t hurt. Unless they drop the offer next year and you’ve got loyalty brownie points with your current insurer or something.

I’m with Belair... and these guys are cheaper by about $10/month.

But I’m not a Leafs fan and Belair has given me good service in the past with two claims... both not my fault.

And Belair has never tried to jerk me around either by doing stuff like raising rates with no real explanation.

Some other insurance companies start out cheap, but then jack up the rates later for no real reason.

If I was sure this was going to be a long-term deal, I might seriously consider it. But I don’t want to change only to find out next year that it was a 1-year thing and my rates are going up.

Still, $10/month cheaper is pretty good... for some young dude getting a first car, or someone who changes cars a lot it’s worth a shot.
