Kinja'd!!!

I’ve been looking at Skyline GT-Rs recently, and came to the conclusion that the R33 GT-R is probably my favorite. Especially in Midnight Purple with Nismo LM-GT2 wheels.

Kinja'd!!!

Prices still seem reasonable , too ( though it is listed as repaired )... I doubt that will last though.

Kinja'd!!!

I also found this LM Limited. Much more expensive ...

Kinja'd!!!

Anyone know what’s going on in the trunk?

Only reason prices are still low on R33 is because Americans can’t buy them yet. 3 years ago, R32 GT-R were sold for less than 8000$ here in Japan. You could find some at auction for 5000$. 3 times less R33 GT-R were made, when compared to R32... So be ready for prices to skyrocket in 2020.

Came here to say the same thing. The other one that does it for me is the wilder special editions of the r34. Kind of the other end of the spectrum.

Midnight Purple R33 GTR for me. If I had a second choice it’d be the R34 GT-R Nür Spec in white.

Great topic!

For me it’s the R32, mainly because of all of the innovations it made, by bringing Porsche 959 hypercar technology to the masses (and the badass looks).

I like all generations of GT-R in their own way though.

If I were in a country with gtrs I would be snatching up clean r33s. R34s are expensive by virtue of being new and the most iconic. When those hit us 25 year rule, prices are going to be obscene.

Totally agree... I’ll get at least one R33 GT-R sometimes soon... I’ve driven one recently, that I was allowed to push around and they’re good. A car I could leave with at least. But yeah they’ll be worth a lot more money than now in 5 years...

Quick video I did with whatever footage I had...

Those wheels look great on that R30, especially in gold with the polished lips.

I figure it will be interesting to see how the price shakes-out by then - on the one hand, it’s a GT-R, but on the other hand, it seems to be the least liked of the R32, R33, and R34 group. I reckon that the prices will jump a fair bit when they are legal, but I’m guessing that they won’t be quite up there with the R32s and R34s...

...time will tell.

They’ll be way past R32 GTRs and nowhere near R34s... The “hated R33" is something from the 90's... A small bunch of uninformed people keep on quoting initial D, but that’s about it lol

Hated isn’t the word I would use to describe the R33 GT-R; overshadowed and not as loved, maybe, but not hated. It seems like that with the overall package, not just performance, the discussion always turns to R32 and R34, at least in the US. Maybe the change in legal status in a few years will change that - it’s certainly going to be interesting to see.
