Edmonton has an interesting car culture. It’s where I saw my first Niva on the road, four years or so before I bought mine.

A friend of mine just 20 mins north of Edmonton has a Lada 2104 wagon and not one but TWO 2106s sedans. Also he had a Niva previously so there is a very good chance that it might of been the one you saw.

Haha, I’m aware of Ivan2104. Shawn helped me out on the way down to the LeMons rally with some knowledge. The online Lada community is very small in this part of the world, people doing things stand out.
Also this one wasn’t his. It was light green. There’s still an old Lada dealer, Ital Motors, that’s still operating in some capacity in Edmonton, and they usually have a few Nivas on the lot. The Edmonton area seems to have the densest population of Ladas west of Quebec, possibly because of the parts supply made available through Ital.

Wow! Small world is right. I drive by the 2 2106s daily and see Ivan2104 3-4 times a week minimum. Fort Saskatchewan Alberta is not a very big place.
