I gotta say it feels good working after a year and a half of unemployment.

How do you get over gap in employment? Did they ask for an explanation?

Yeah, but a year of that was studying for/taking the GRE as a fallback to get into grad school

aww. I have gaps like that and was just wondering if you had tips to explain it because even when I have good reasons it seems interviewers dont care what reason one might have.

Yeah, I just tried to show that I was active during that time, but I’ve had a lot of recruiters not call back after the phone/video interview

Thats what I am concerned about. Not getting call backs or interviews and not knowing why I wonder if they think something nefarious is going on with my gaps for school and stuff.

I always assume they imagined me as a lazy slob during phone interviews, so I tried my best to dissuade them of that notion. I also shotgun blasted my resume anywhere and everywhere
