Kinja'd!!!

I’ve been seeing this crew cab Tacoma being used as a scrap truck locally for three or four years. When it first showed up, the thing was MINT. I always thought it was bizarre that such a nice expensive truck, with such a small bed, was being used as a scrap truck.

As you can see, the last few years have not been kind to the truck. You can’t really tell from this picture, but the bottom of the cab is getting rusty too.

Not sure how one even acquires most of those dings. Does he just throw shit over the rails, and if he misses then it adds another ding to the side?

I agree with your sentiment — it makes zero sense to purchase an expensive passenger-oriented pickup for hauling scrap.

Unless my screen color profile is way off, I’d say it’s still mint.

But your point is taken. Why they didn’t just get an old beater for the job is beyond me.

It looks as if he parks it on a driving range.

Pretty much, yeah. I once watched him accidentally smash a huge mirror against the side of the truck. He did have the decency to clean up after himself at least.

Yeah, he could’ve easily sold the Taco, assuming he already owned it, and bought something way cheaper with an 8' bed.

I suppose, but as easy as Tacomas are to sell and as good as their resale value is, why not sell it and buy something way cheaper with an 8' bed?

Hey man, even scrap truck drivers (is that a job title?) deserve Toyota reliability.

Yeah, the factory tint on my windows and the lighting do make it look mint green. Weird! The truck is actually silver.

Poor truck, it would survive 10 more years in a state that does not have to abuse that truck with road salt

I imagine I’ll be seeing in for another 10 years or so. Until the frame literally breaks in half, or the cab falls right the shit off.

Or the automatic transmission going to bits.
