Kinja'd!!!

I struggled to undo the lug nuts, oil filter and oil cap on the car while doing the oil change.

Now for excuses: It was 100 degrees today, I was trying to get it done quickly and I worked out on Friday.

Picture of my dream car for your time.

One day, we’ll find a car that looks bad with TE37s.

Today is not that day.

That is also the same day pigs will fly.

Seriously though, TE37s look good on any car. They even make outrageous colors like the red above look like valid color choices.

We can’t even say “well, classic cars don’t look good with them”, since TE37Vs exist.

It’s perfect. I’ve never been interested in classic Japanese cars but that is getting dangerously close to converting me.

I saw this on Goo-Net a while back. It was built by the same people who did the Z and the Kenmeri on TE37s, Rocky Auto. Yes, it’s a Hakosuka wagon with an RB26. No, it’s not unusual for Rocky Auto. It’s kinda their thing.

In your defence, if it was last worked on by a ‘shop then sometimes they do wheel nuts up with impact wrenches which is a stupid thing to do as they end up way too tight.

Oh, and oil filters are often a bear to get off. Do them up hand tight and they somehow wind up way tighter.

Yeah it was last done by the dealer since the first oil change was free so I figured why not. The oil filter was a bear. I had to get an adjustable wrench to take it out. I was supposed to change the transmission fluid too but called it a day after the oil because I was way too tired. I’m considering getting a harbor freight impact to remove the lug nuts from now on.

Does sound like the wheel nuts were overtorqued then. Just do them up to the book figure and you should be fine ;) although impact wrenches are real time-savers :)
