Nah, I think ‘94 or ‘95 Le Mans would be more heartbreaking if you’re a Toyota fan or a Mario Andretti fan, respectively.

I think they fixed some issues while others circled the track for ~19 laps. The best LMP2 cars seemed to work without issues. So there was a large gap to catch. This is probably the second worst performance of the “top class” in decades.
In ‘79 Le Mans positions 1-4 were taken by “lesser” cars (3 x 935 and 934) and the best sports car prototype was fifth.
A lot sadder fact is that the finishing LMP1 teams couldn’t even fill the podium. Enjoy the picture. I nearly died from the heat while taking it.
