and they’re correct. I’ve been a lot happier than I ever was when I was living in Texas, even if my finical resources aren’t what they used to be. There are still ups and downs, and there is still some self loathing at times, but for the most part I’m doing much better than when I worked in the oilfield. 10 months of unemployment wore me out mentally, and I’m still working on recovering from that.

They are right. You can not go to. A store and buy a bucket of happiness bit you can buy a WRX. I bought this house and I’ve been pretty happy so far.

Technically one is just a 328i, but your point stands.

I make around 50k less now, there is no way I could have afforded to keep the M3 if it wasn’t paid for.

At my previous job we used to have something called a CPN, career network profile. It was like a company about me page. Since I really didn’t like my life that much and consequently didn’t really give a fuck, so in the about me section I had: “They say money doesn’t buy happiness, but it does buy and M3 and as far as I can tell, that’s the same thing.”

Well you make 50k *less*, but many Americans don’t even make 50k. No one’s asking for you to feel guilty or anything, just remember that there are people -on here even - that actually struggle financially.

I’ll allow it.

I’ve been very fortunate that I haven’t had money problems. One of my really good friends pointed out to me that yeah I might be unemployed, but at least I didn’t have to worry about how I was going to pay my bills or if I was going to be able to pay rent next month. I understand you’re not trying to shame me for it but I went from a job where I was seriously thinking about buying an AMG in addition to the M3 to a job where it wouldn’t be possible for me to even afford the M3.

It’s crazy how much “Money Problems” vary from person to person.

That’s very true. I mean, I’ve been fortunate but now that I make a lot less than I used to.

Grew up with parents that constantly had money issues.

Dad went from doing half a million in work a year to having our gas shut off.

Money issues stress me out now. Don’t make your kids worry about money.

But it seems like it’ll usually work out.

Since you already bought the M3 (a little slice of experience happiness) I don’t see a problem. Carry on.
