Kinja'd!!!

Sonoma Raceway hosts the Toyota/Savemart 350 this next weekend. I have never been to a NASCAR event before and I’m stoked to go, especially since it’s not only a road course but also one that I know really well.

I’m used to having the run of the place with almost nobody there aside from drivers so I’m looking forward to seeing the stands and stalls all open and having a margarita in the sun. Any other oppos gonna be there?

I live in Marin, not far, but no I don’t want to be at a nascar event. Also the traffic in an out of there with a big event is mind blowing. I always seem to have to work during the classic race car event they have each year, very annoying. I do go to the Sunoco there to get high octane without ethanol for the Z.

Yeah I’m expecting the traffic to be goddamn bonkers. The people randomly out wine tasting are in for a surprise!

There’s a few places around the bay area that have the 100 octane. Fremont has a spot. There’s a few in San Jose as well. I don’t know the prices but it’s cheaper than the $10 a gallon at Sonoma. It’s worth a quick Google search depending if you ever make it south at all.

Yeah it gets to be pretty far, if I go up the coast I can get fuel and then go north to Petaluma and cut out the coast. I don’t put a ton of miles on it so better to get that gas when I can. I live in Larkspur so I’m not going too far. I know Walnut Creek has some and you can get cans too, but it’s too much trouble, I just get the highest I can and treat it for ethanol, make sure to run cleaners like seafoam through it a lot. I have three new carbs on it so I don’t want all that shit in there. The only way to enjoy Sears Point might be to get a bike and then you can ride out on the side of the road.

Will the winner drink wine fortified with Monster?

I think the previous winner drank wine that was aged in a barrel made from Sprint SIMs.

Have Fun! Sonoma is a place I’ve always wanted to see the cup race at in person.
