My dad currently drives a 135is, before that he had a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, 2002 Buick Regal, 1996 Subaru Legacy GT, some other cars that I don’t really remember. I do know when he was about my age he had a 1978 280z and a 1982 supra, so I guess it’s fitting I currently have 2 BMWs.

His lovely new 2016 F150 XLT Sport SuperCrew 2.7 EcoBoost.
His previous pride and joy, his favorite car he’s ever had, a 2004 Ranger Edge SuperCab 3.0 V6 5 speed manual.
He hasn’t owned a car since the 80s, only pickup trucks.
His last car? A Renault 4 back in Colombia.

My dad’s big blue “monster truck” was THE coolest thing to me when I was a little kid. It’s a little old and hail damaged now but it still stands out to me.
He also had a 90 Silverado single cab, short bed, 4x4, 350 5-speed. Which was supposed to be my first car before it was stolen.
Otherwise nothing interesting save a 70 Camaro RS/SS which I’ve never even seen a photo of.

This is the car I will always associate with my dad. A 1989 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4x4 2.8l V6 with a 5 speed manual. He ordered it 1989 and drove it until 2007 when he traded up for a new Colorado.

I guess the 2005 Jaguar Vanden Plas is my father’s current car. His second X350 after mom crashed his 2004 Vanden Plas. They used to share but since mom got her S-Type R they each have their own Jag. However, the VDP is acting as my car in the absence of my Mercedes. Family policy dictates that the responsible party for an accident rendering a vehicle inoperable is demoted to the 220,000 mile TrailBlazer until the situation is resolved. As dad crashed into my Mercedes, he gets the old Chevy.

Alright, none of these are the actual cars, since he’s never taken pictures of his cars, bt they’re at least the right colour. Mostly.
His first car was a 1965 Beetle, not nearly as nice as this one apparently. The started never worked, but that was fine because it was light enough to push start easily. Also it was rusty. The engine blew in the middle of nowhere and that’s where the car stayed.
1976 LandCruiser. Bought new, very similar to this, had big mud tires but not lifted, flares on the back, and checker plate where it was already starting to rust by 1979 or so. Sold in 81 or so.
1965 Plymouth Valiant Signet convertible, with the 273 Commando V8 and a special order Hurst 4 speed. This is the wrong colour, and the wrong wheels, and almost definitely not a V8/4 speed. I’ve yet to find a picture of a silver/gray Canadian ‘65 Valiant Signet convertible, let alone one with the 273 and 4 speed. This one was my his favourite, and was sadly totalled by a taxi driving on the wrong side of the road coming around a blind corner. He still doesn’t like taking taxis.
1972 MGB. He let a friend drive it for the first time, who immediately ran a stop sign and t-boned a huge Impala or something. So that was the end of the MG, and the end of my dad letting anyone drive his cars.
Now he’s on his fourth Ford wagon.

My dad now has a brand new TSI Jetta. But we were talking last night about his dark green 911. It was a 72 and he at one point had two of them. The other one he sold, but kept the dark green one for a long time. He only liked ones made 72 or older, because the 73 had bigger bumpers that messed up the handling. I suspect the dark green color would officially be known as Irish Green. So it would have looked like this.
