How many MR2s is too many? Don’t know. There might not be such a thing as too many MR2s.

How many do you have now??

Also studded snow tires... Yikes. I know they’re a bit wild in the snow without snow tires, but they seem a little out of place now...

Two, but looking for a rust-free non-runner to swap all the bits from my ‘89 into. Driving home on the snow tires through the city was the worst, but the guy had a used set of all seasons that fit too, so we’re putting those on it for now.

Few things in this world are better than a AW11 with fat tires

I always think they’re like jigsaws.... Constantly welding in bits of metal that fit.

But jokes aside, it looks like a nice straight one, and the engine is bullet proof.

Jeez, unless it was like two seconds away, I woulda just swapped em out before driving out of the guy’s driveway o_O

Good luck in your ventures and hope you find one! My first car was an 87 and it was an awesome piece of crap and I’m sure I’ll eventually get another one that’s a bit less crappy... :)

We were in the middle of nowhere, had a zipcar to return, and the other tires weren’t on wheels, so I just took my chances. If they were already mounted, then I’d have swapped them and left the studded tires, but no such luck. We wouldn’t have been able to take it to wal-mart or whatver to get it done anyway because of how bad the clutch master cylinder is. It won’t disengage fully or get into gear with everything running. That was way worse than the studded tires making noise.

Worst? Assuming you got mid engined slides on without intending it, I’d hazard a guess it was the best drive home ever

Multiple MR2 owner, so I’ve had nicer rides home, lol. If we want to get technical though, it was pushing because the fronts were smaller than the rears. There was also the noise at lower speeds and issue with every toll booth operator reminding me that they should give me a ticket for having studded tires on the street. It’s much nicer now with street tires and will be even better still once I get some stickies put on it.

I’ve never seen a toll booth or a studded tyre so I have a limited grasp of what you’re saying. I’m sorry for your misfortune and I hope the MR2 makes you as happy as the rest

This was my first experience with studded tires. It’s really, really obvious that metal is what’s coming in contact with the ground when driving it. Luckily we now have the tires swapped out and the clutch issue ended up just being the master cylinder, so now it’s good to go.
