Driver error or puncture?

Was it a driver error or was the tire punctured before Jprdan Taylor went into the gravel trap?

It was driver error. Puncture was a result of driving through the trap.

I heard the commentator say the LMP2 car clipped him before the first runoff, not sure if he did though.

He did straightline a chicane on the Mulsanne Straight before he went into the gravel. That might have caused some of it.

It was a damaged steering arm from the contact at Arnage.

The radio Le Mans guys seemed to think that the contact when the Aston tried to pass the first time may have caused a steering arm to break and then he didn’t have much steering so was forced to go through the trap and then that caused the puncture.

He went straight line through a number of those gravel traps near the end which isn’t typically the strategy. Will be interesting to hear what the corvette team diagnoses.

Jordan Taylor doesn’t make mistakes like that, i would be shocked if that tire wasn’t going down before he straight lined it.

The tire didn’t start giving him handling issues until the very end of the lap. If it was down enough to put him off at the left hander into the chicane it certainly would have put him in the gravel at Mulsanne.

The lap before he was almost clipped going into the second chicane but wasn’t.
