I think I'm catching the mod bug

Finally, after two months of having my Silverado. I’m shocked it took that long.

Kinja'd!!!

Nothing too drastic or involved. A body color LTZ grille and bumper center piece, accompanied by headlights with dark housings; 18" split 5-spoke wheels from a 14+ Silverado wrapped in Firestone Destination LE2 tires; A Borla S-Type exhaust; Aftermarket speakers but keep the stock stereo; the 4-button DIC panel which I recently learned you can buy as a GM accessory; and maybe a leveling kit, I’m still undecided on that.

There’s also my pipe dream of an Eaton supercharger sitting on top of that LC9 motor but I know that won’t be happening considering the kit is half the cost of the truck.

It’s gonna be a while before I can start doing much anything to the truck anyway besides small things, like the 4-button DIC I’m still trying to track down at a junk yard over spending $100 on it through GM accessories.

I’ve had the functional mod bug on the Taco. Installed a BakFlip G2 cover today. Added side steps for my little guy to get in, Weathertech liners. My one cosmetic mod is the TRD Pro grill. Once I need new tires, I’ll probably swap out the wheels, too.

Performance wise, there’s not much to do for me. The S/C knocks off about two tenths on a 0-60, not sure what it would do for drivability vs the cost. I do wish I could make it sound better, but I think it’s hard to make a V6 sound really good.

I honestly never knew there were that many mods possible to a truck. I’m impressed.

I got the mod bug recently too. I got some proper tail lights after a month with my car. I thought that subsided the bug. Then it reappeared and I got lowering springs and an exhaust.

I really do think trucks are some of the most modifiable vehicles out there. I’m hardly scratching the surface with what I want to do.

I’d keep the chrome grille, but the center of the bumper should be body colored. That’s just my opinion though.

Not going to put in a CB and a pair of 8' antennas on the front corners of the cab?

The mod bug itches me all the time. I’ve had my truck for about two months also.

Exhaust: I’m thinking about cutting out the muffler (leaving the resonator); it’s just too quiet how it sits. (Example:

)

Wheels/Tires: I haven’t decided. I want some All Terrain tires, but am too cheap to change out perfectly good tires anytime soon; same goes for wheels.

Stereo: Not bad at all, but I could always use a little more bass. I’ve been looking at small powered enclosures for under the front/center seat. I’m just not sure if they’re worth it for a measly 10"er.

Also want a spray-in bedliner and maybe a leveling kit.
