I love its history.

in case the link gets kinja’d.

Kinja'd!!!

Originally, this Suburban was custom built by GM for the Colombian government in 1954 for transporting government officials through the Colombian jungle. Hence the need for heavy duty four wheel drive system. It is a one of a kind long wheelbase Suburban, equipped with ultra rare Coleman 2.5 ton axles. Coleman 4x4 conversion was a more rare and more expensive alternative to Napco system back in the 1950's.

Kinja'd!!!

All original 1954 one ton, long wheelbase, Chevy Suburban 3800 with a Coleman 4x4 conversion.

Only one confirmed to be in existence. (If you happen to know of another long wheelbase Suburban with Coleman 4x4 any production year, anywhere in the world please let me know.)

This is NOT a long panel truck converted to a Suburban. This is a real factory produced Suburban with body panels stamped by GM.

The motor is a rebuilt 235 CI inline six converted to 12 volt charging system. Four speed manual transmission.

The truck starts, drives, steers and stops as it should and it’s currently on the road. The Coleman four wheel drive system is complete and fully operational.
