Kinja'd!!!

Last year, my partner’s mother sadly passed away after an extended illness. He subsequently inherited this, which so far, he hasn’t done anything with. It’s her 1995 Chrysler Concorde. Wildberry Pearl Metallic, gray interior, 28K original miles, and minty fresh all around. Not so much as a scratch to the hubcaps. Obviously, she never drove the thing.

He’s finally preparing to sell, and I’m wondering how much he might get for it. I realize there aren’t a lot of people looking for a ’95 Concorde, but this thing is a time capsule. KBB is suggesting about $1,800 private sale, but to me that seems a tad low.

I’d start at $3000 and take the 1st $2500 offered.

There’s a reason you don’t see any of these on the road anymore. My parents had one and the transmission grenaded at less than 30k.

There is a market for this, but it is probably a niche. Since you’re in no hurry, I’d say hold on to it until you get the price you want. KBB’s estimate doesn’t really apply here.

Wow, that is super clean-looking!

I kinda liked the slender styling of the early models (especially the Intrepid); they look like they must have excellent visibility. Can’t say the same for the second-gen ones; they look like they got stung by a bee.

KBB isn’t a great fit for valuing a car over 20 years old, especially if it’s in pristine condition. but it would take finding a fan of those cars (and there are some) to pay a higher asking price. It’s not really a “classic” and probably will never be, but almost all of those cars were used up and thrown away years ago.

I mean, that thing is cherry. I don’t know how much I’d be willing to pay for it, but in that shape I’d have a hard time not buying it in a heartbeat.

It’s kind of an in-betweener. Too new(ish) to really be collectible with low miles and also too new to store it or keep around until it fetches real dollars, but also kind of a time capsule that, while being a perfect first car, shouldn’t be subjected to teenage abuse.

There is a European opponaut who collects these 90s round aerodynamic wonders, but he just bought a new project, so I doubt that he’ll bite.

It’s a shame, but if neither of you wants to drive it, and he isn’t attached to it for some sentimental reason, just flog it off to the highest bidder.

Go find a forum for LH platform cars and post it there with lots of pictures. You’ll find an eager buyer pretty quickly.

Don’t trust the KBB or NADA values on older vehicles with low mileage. After a certain number of years, they stop adding or deducting from value for mileage, which on this car, should certainly be a decent addition.

As soon as I saw the title I was like, “this was a little old lady’s car.”

My grandma had a 1991 Chevy Lumina that had 41k miles on it when she traded in on a brand new 2008 Pontiac G6.

They look to have pretty nice interiors too, and then again, after the first gen it all turned to shit. These early ones that are closer to their French roots are intriguing.
