And I tore the sole on my favorite wingtips. Time for a quick and simple solution:

I may have only paid $0.50 for these shoes, but dammit, I’m going to get my money’s worth out of them, even if that means spending a whole dollar on glue...

Whaaaaaat!?!?!?

Fuck you are right. I just scoured eBay and checked Zappos & 6pm.com just to be sure. They are $50 no matter where you go. I’m glad I snagged a pair in my funky size (13) for $30 on eBay a year or two ago. I love Vans slip-ons so much I accidentally started a collection of them a couple years back. I still only have 5 pairs, so it’s not a full-fledged addiction (yet)

The most I ever spent on slip-ons was $75 each for two pairs of Takashi Murakami x Vans slip-ons. Murakami is my favorite currently-living artist, so I justified the purchases as “art pieces.” I still wear them outside . Shoes are still shoes. And slip-ons are pretty good for driving too!

Sorry, I gotta show off: These are two styles of pairs I have. I waited in a line that stretched around the block at the Vans Store in Manhattan, and they were out of my size when it was finally my turn to go into the store.

Luckily, 6-8 months later they hit eBay en masse.

i rock the suede pro slip ons which last several times longer, but yeah they’re now at the point they aren’t cheap disposable shoes anymore

i had a pair of your murakamis on the bottom but those made it like two months.

to be fair i walk 10 miles a day if i’m not riding my bike, i can’t really blame the shoes. i wish i could afford to have more than a pair at a time
