I still don’t see the value of the Type R vs the Golf or RS as a performance car. For $2k more I get 50hp more and a sophisticated AWD system in a car which is capable of keeping up with an ex-Prodrive WRC Impreza.

I feel so conflicted. I get that it’s functional and that that’s a good thing, but I’d look like such a douchebag in a Civic with a giant wing like that. Like, I don’t mean that as a blanket statement, I just mean that I specifically would look like a huge tool in that car.

We’ll see how it shakes out, but you’re paying a premium for Honda build quality. The ST’s have a pretty bad reputation for reliability which doesn’t give me much confidence that the more complicated RS will last more than 50k before basically falling apart.
