Kinja'd!!!

Here it is, from some late 90s Toyota Corolla. This seat was sitting in my basement for several years.

Kinja'd!!!

The easy part was cutting up the wood and measuring. The hard part was putting these damn bolts in and making sure everything was alright.

If I only had a metal grinder... hence why the chair sits slightly angled but works fine otherwise. Those little metal rods were a royal pain to work with.

How it’s put together from the bottom.... donor office chair has pneumatic height adjustment and it swivels. The chair reclines as well!

Here it is next to the first one I made 5 years ago, from a 1999 Chevy Tahoe. The Tahoe one is comfier but I like how both came out.

A friend of mine has an Audi A4 seat desk chair from when he put S4(I think, they were from some performance Audi) seats in his A4. Honestly, one of the nicest desk chairs I’ve ever sat in

Do you have to ask your coworkers 90s questions, as well? Like “How do you write a conditional sum formula in Lotus 123?” or “Is Eve 6 coming to town on this tour?”

Fine work!

Unfortunately not, and we both graduated college about a month ago so I’m not going to be hanging around his room with opportunity to snag a picture nearly as often/at all in the near future.

He did a really good job with the mounting though, it looks like a factory made seat but he’s a mechanical engineer with good fabrication skills and access to all the tools he could need.

Good gaming chair for racing games. Don’t forget the seatbelt (add racing harness?)

I made one a while back, using a similar wooden base idea, based on a 90s Recaro seat:

However, I lend it to someone for a while, and still haven’t picked it up as I don’t have the space for it at the moment.
