Kinja'd!!!

Perfect time to get the hell out of here. I wonder how hot the asphalt will be by the end of the week. It also hasn’t rained in thirty four days.

But it’s a dry heat...

I kid, I kid. That doesn’t look fun at all. I can’t imagine what your air conditioning does to your electric bill. Well, maybe I can a little. Summers around here rise into the triple digits, too, but we haven’t gotten quite THAT hot yet. Low 100s, sure. But not in the mid to upper teens. Yikes!

Stay cool, my friend. Drink lots of lemonade. :)

Those temps will be at the airport which isn’t really surrounded by anything. I could see it hitting over 120F downtown.

Up to 110F isn’t bad if you’re used to it. 115+ dor a straight week gets to be a bit much.

This could explain why Texans only come here in the summer. The average high is in red and low in blue.

It got up to 94 with a heat index of 100 here. The humidity here in Kentucky is ridiculous. It’s literally difficult to breathe outside. I’m already over it.

I’ve hated summer ever since I became an adult and no longer got out of school for it.

My utility bill is atrocious since the A/C runs all the time, I can’t go out and go for walks on my breaks at work since I’ll be a sweaty mess if I do, I get headaches and sinus issues a lot with the humidity, my 4-month-old has to be kept inside and out of the sun constantly, etc. Annoying.

Holy hell that’s unbelievable. Your lows are in the range where I cringe when I see those as HIGHS.

I was raised in it so I’m used to it. I’m still a sweaty mess in this type of heat though. We used to play baseball and football in 100-110 temps. I’ll even hike in weather up to around 105. But even the slightest bit of dehydration will result in headaches.

Those lows are at like 3am in the morning. As soon as the sun comes up it is into the mid ‘90s.

Our low tonight will be 45. It should be almost 80 tomorrow, though, which is a nice summer temp, I think. However, last week we had a day that rained on and off with a HIGH of 48. We were out of town, thankfully. WTF, June?

Tim’s posts of exploring your beautiful state, plus copious craigslist postings showing completely rust-free 30 year old vehicles has often led me to dream about living there- TBH most of the trails here in CO are closed from Sept/Oct until June. Plus, growing up in TX got me used to triple digit temps, but 120f? Holy hell.
