I am waiting for some folks to go take water samples on the Flathead river. It’s hard to be down on a day like today. The water is ripping but we have a 150 jet should be fun.

I’ve always wanted to try a jet outboard, I Imagine they are a lot of fun. I wonder if there is a retrofit option. I have an old Mariner that would work a lot better as a jet.

I have no idea if you could retrofit. The main reason for the jet is it is better for rivers and shallow water than a prop that can get damaged if it hits the ground. It’s my understanding that props are more efficient than jets.

yeah, jets usually need about a 1/3rd more HP for the same thrust. The boat it would go on would just be more fun with a jet and would allow me to bypass the need to retrofit a new trim/tilt

If the bolt pattern matches up, you might be able to swap out the lower unit.
