Because variety is the spice of life. At these single make/model events the parking lot is usually the highlight of the show. Corvettes? Meh. An Alpha tuned 1000HP GTR in a great color though? Pretty cool.

Living 5 minutes from Nissan NA HQ has the perks of seeing these monsters all the time. I’ve seen up to a 1200hp road car GT-R.

Nice! Of all the pix above, it’s the ‘66 Chevy that intrigues me the most. Big block or 327? I can’t read the fender flags, but guessing the latter. Sweet Jaaaaaag, too—

I was really impressed by the fact that it looked completely stock. Most of the GTRs that show up at Japanese car day have way less power and insane wraps/wings.

The one I saw the other day had different wheels but I thought they might have been just for track use until I saw the Alpha license plate frame. They seem to do good work.

Yeahhhh it’s always the latter! I didn’t think to look. And yep it’s awesome that the dudes in the Jag are driving it around like that, the owner was a baby boomer with a massive beard and a tie dye shirt.

I can’t even imagine what that’s like on the highway.

You never know on the Chevy - that’s the bottom barrel stripper model, and it could have a 427 under the hood if it was built for racing. Fender flags aren’t necessarily accurate anyways - pretty easy to swap them out, but most people don’t.
And the heck with making that Jag a trailer queen - - much more fun to have a car with a few warts, so you don’t worry so much about driving it!

Almost ended up there this weekend, but godson wanted to go to the Children’s Museum instead. I am eagerly anticipating the return of the Microcar Classic, however.

I was extra hyped over the Toyo Cera and the Autozam at Japanese day, that’s a good one for kei cars if youre into that

Idk. for some reason these get a bad rap whereas the 350 is so easily and cheaply remedied, versus other similar cars (like mine) that require rare parts and custom work. Also widely available in manual unlike a lot of period cars.

Yeah a nice C3 in a seventies color is on my bucket list. I think they’re great. Also I’m not a horsepower freak, like you said I’m sure the SBC could be hotted up a little.
