That’s actually some impressive rebadging.

LOL - like the guy who badged his Hyundai as a Maser.

That’s greater than the sum total of all other Avalon modding in the history of the world. Respect.

It took me a long time to figure out that it’s not a Lexus

I mean isn’t the avalon more or less the same thing as a ES any ways? but the ES is what a little narrower or something but basically the same right?

I saw a Civic wearing Acura badges just the other day. Shameful.

That generation? No. ES was still on the Camry platform back then.

Are you sure it didn’t have Canadian plates?

The ES is the same as the camry of the time, while the avalon is larger in most dimensions and was the “high end” toyota (but lower end than the ES). It is just a stretched camry/ES platform though.

This is true but upsets me because my first car was a 1998 Lexus GS. It SEEMED like the GS was just the lexus badged version of the avalon, but of course it was a totally different RWD platform and had a 2jz rather than the 3.0 v6 in the avalon.

Another misconception is calling the first gen IS a lexus version of a corolla, which is just so so wrong.

Were Civics sold as Acuras in Canada? This one had Colorado plates.

I’m just terribly unfamiliar with the standard Lexus/Toyota cars. I know the trucks, the Supra, and the first gen IS. The rest I can hardly tell apart.

Interesting! What I saw was definitely a Honda with Acura badges though.

There hasnt been an inspiring non truck toyota product in a while. I like the GS-F and IS-F but the regular trim cars are just...there.
