Whew, I’ll bet he was glad to have pulled it out just then.

I can’t tell if the wind was pushing his car back or if he was trying to pull back into his garage. Either way, YUP!

I think the wind turned him around. Which is even more scary. He’s lucky he didn’t get lifted up and slammed back into the ground.

Still, you gotta wonder how he wasn’t aware that there was a potentially tornado-spawning storm in the area. With Doppler radar, 24-hour news, live weather cut-ins, and smart phones that blare during severe weather loud enough to wake the dead, you’d think he’d’ve had a bit more warning.

I’m not irrational about many things but tornados are one thing I have a real irrational fear about. I will take our earthquakes over the threat of a tornado any day.

My first thought was, “he better put that garage door down before the wind gets in there.” He didn’t. It did. Garage fell down.

I have some experience with this. The attic access in our house is in the garage. It was open when a tornado came through our neighborhood. The wind went from the back of the house, through the soffet vents, through the attic, and into the garage. When I got home, it looked like the hulk had been trapped in my garage and tried to beat his way out.

On the other side of the street, a limb hit the neighbor’s garage door, creating an opening in the lower-right corner. The wind swirling around inside their garage rotated their car 45°. The truck sitting out front was rotated 90° and pushed across their yard until it hit a streetlight.

Three houses were completely destroyed, two by wind, one by a tree. Our house had minor damage with each house west of us getting progressively worse. I only had to replace fence, some siding and trim, our patio furniture, my grill, a window, and a garage door. We were lucky.
