After hitting that tire on the freeway, I decided to go with insurance for the repairs. I was gonna wait a bit longer, but a couple days ago my radiator fan got stuck on after I turned the car off, and I noticed that, even though the car never overheated, it had been leaking coolant for who knows how long and was just about empty. So, I took it in yesterday instead of driving on it like this longer.
But anyway, insurance will pay up to $50/day for a rental. That means I get the intermediate level, and I’ll be driving around in an Elantra Or Similar. I hope that they’re out of everything except for a G-Wagen or a Ghibli. Because that’s totally a possibility.

In some fleets you actually could get a G-Wagen or Ghibli. Not likely on this continent, however.

i got my first rental car after being rear-ended, in which i was promptly rear ended. best part is both people had the same insurance carrier.

If you can, go to an airport location. You can do a quick walk around the lot, and usually pick exactly what you want.

Based on how rental car companies classify cars they may just consider it intermediate. It’s like fast food places that don’t have small drinks, only medium, large, and extra large. Neither seems to know how sizes work.

The last time I rented in Germany, I was offered a Ghibli for a $100/day upsell. I laughed.

I remember the last time I was at ATL, Hertz had a C63 and a Tesla. I am sure the upsells were crazt there too.
