Or rather in Cé hé sin’s style: A thing rarely seen . Not that weird with only 139 units produced.

Only 42 were made in blue, and of those, only 12 had yellow accents, and only 1 was optioned in those colors with a four-spire design. This is a very rare find indeed.

I think it shared the taillights with it’s little brother the 507. Now that would be a rare find.
The owner claimed he had a 503 coupe as well. Wow.

A 503 cabriolet starred in the The Last Run , an offbeat Krimi if there was ever one.
Hard to believe it was developed in parallel with the 507...

Thanks, got to see that now.
They (the 503 and 507) even share parts!

[Very much off-topic: I have just realised that
A Thing Rarely Seen
sounds quite like the title for a quaint, British-made 60s thriller.]

Surely there must be some other vehicle manufactured in Germany that had those too - some Kommissbrot -shaped commercial vehicle with a peculiar number of cylinders?
The Last Run
is not wonderful, but hey, it’s got George C Scott in it – and Trish van Devere, which I always found darkly attractive, so to speak.
Filmed in southern Spain in 1971 so you will also get to see odd, old locally-made junk. And a Jag.

[It does. This 503 probably would be part of that thriller. Excellent.]

Classic Park is a classic car company. Every month they have at least one special day organized for some meet-up, last Sunday it was about German classics.
The owner has a 503 coupe as well. And he has several Z8's. And he lives nearby. I already told him I’d come by and he didn’t mind. “De koffie staat klaar!”

SQUEEE!! Geweldig man!! Zeker koppie koffie halen daar!
Several Z8s eh? Wow. And the 503 coupe is even better than this one.

Haha. Of course that’s one of Freek’s beauties. He must be pretty annoyed that his busy season is starting. Who owns the car?

Harrie van den Anker. There’s an Isetta there as well!

Harry also has an Isetta? He’s got good taste. I hope you took the opportunity to give a lecture on the Isetta using all that you learned from my posts.

Yeah, but it is a bit of an ongoing collection, many of ‘m he sells right away (to fund his hobby), so not sure if he’ll hang on to it. I told ‘m I’d come by with THE Isetta guru of the States!

His hobby being buying more cars? I used to do it that way, too, but I’ve settled down.
Ha. That’s a nice looking Isetta. I can’t tell if it’s a 300 or a 250 (probably a 250 since it doesn’t have the door vents), and that bumper is a little odd, but I’m guessing it’s a ‘57.

I’m starting again...
It’s ‘61. Does this help in identifying it?

But, you’re just accumulating, not swapping.
Ah, one of the last ones, then. I knew it was later from the bumper setup, but that paint job was only available in ‘57 from the factory, and that’s a common year. It looks well done. You should get a ride in it.

I’m selling the V50! I think...
I’ll certainly ask. I feel he’d rather have me drive this than one of his Z8s ;-)

I didn’t know you still had the V50. Is that Krista drives? I’d actually trade the C30 if I could find a decent mileage V50 R-Design with a stick. Which is rarer than a unicorn.
The Isetta is loads more fun than a Z8, anyway. And it’ll get more waves from passers-by.

Yes, but it’s going this summer. Krista will be working in Breda starting next school year so we don’t need it anymore. She can take the Pao if she needs a car ;-)
Guess what I ran into this weekend...
It’s a Trojan!!!!

06/20/2017 at 00:11, STARS: 1
Wow, it is a Trojan. The British Heinkel. That’s great. I really love those. They’re like a bigger Isetta that is partially melted. You’ve really been in the company of some interesting cars lately.

That event was epic. A combination of old planes and cars on a small airstrip. Some people dressed accordingly, Goodwood Revival style.
"Jonee" (Jonee)
06/20/2017 at 20:22, STARS: 1
That sounds great. Were there any Heinkel planes? What’s that one parked behind the Trojan? A Jenny? Sopwith Camel?
"Jobjoris" (Jobjoris)
06/21/2017 at 05:28, STARS: 0
There was a Messerschmitt...
No idea about the thing behind the Trojan. No Sopwith Camel, that one had a round nose. DeHavilland Tiger Moth?
"Jonee" (Jonee)
06/23/2017 at 00:43, STARS: 0
Oh, yeah. I think it might be a De Havilland.
No Messerschmitt cars, though? How about Dornier? They made the Zündapp Janus prototype.

The Messerschmitt ones have the bird.
And the later FMR ones have the diamonds.
Although sometimes they’re circles. But people have always just called them Messerschmitts. I think you need to reread all the Weird Wheels posts. You’ve forgotten so many of my lessons.
