Never will I ever live in a place again that doesnt have AC. And while I will continue to be a scrooge about the heat bill I will pay whatever I need to have my house cold...

I’m the same way. Cold? Buy a few blankets. Hot? Just kill me.

That car probably doesn’t have AC either.

Well then it would have something in common with my car too...

Because you can always pile another blanket on but there’s only so many layers you can take off

Install an old-school car cooler?

10/10 agree with you on that. I lived in a house in Sacramento CA without real AC for 7 years. It was hellish. We had a swamp cooler that kicked it down to the high 70's in two rooms but by the time it got to the kitchen it was back into the low 80's. The next house we got there had central heat and air. Heaven I tell you.

You can always sit naked in front of the refrigerator.

There was one dad at my son’s soccer games a few years ago who would wheel out this big cooler filled with ice, open the lid, then put one of those small fans on it to blow “cool” air on him. Seemed a bit much under the circumstances, but feel free to try it out!

It’s always easier to put clothes on to stay warm than take clothes off to stay cool.

Yeah, I keep my house cold in the summer and cold in the winter.

yeah. I grew up without it, and in my apartment didn’t bother using the useless unit they had. The direction my unit was facing meant I could open windows and get airflow, and a fan was sufficient.

I moved two years ago into a condo with central air, and now you can pry it from my cold dead hands. and they will be cold.

I read this whilst in my central air.

Get one (or two) of these. They don’t require a lot of messing with your windows/window frames, they’re not that expensive, and they cool pretty well. Put one in your living room and one in your bedroom and you should be set.

.... Well, kinja is being kinja, so forget a photo.

So a link to an example instead:

Sigh.

Anyway, you can even get ones hat have remote controls and are programmable to turn on/off at certain times.

Man that has to blow. Our electricity bills are routinely in the upper $200s and sometimes $300 during the summer but we keep our house 67-68°F all season. Year round, actually.
