Well, it was 10th place exactly and I could have taken a few of the corners a little better, but considering that there were 154 participants, 20th was my best to date at this venue, and I managed to catch up to the pair of E36 M3 drivers in my class that I mentioned previously (0.125 slower than one, 0.02 faster than the other), I can’t exactly complain.

In other news, the fiance participated in SCCA’s Starting Line class the day before and appears to have gotten properly hooked. He seems to have a knack for it too. By the end of the day he was the fastest out of the students and managed to hit within 0.1s of what his instructor was able to accomplish in his car (albeit with about a dozen more attempts than said instructor). He wasn’t able to make it to this event, but I’ll be dragging his ass out to some of the next ones at Heartland Park for sure. Here’s hoping we can both keep up the momentum at the new/new-ish (I’ve only been there once) venue.

That Miata looks like a hoot! And congrats on the fiancé upgrade! Soon he’ll be giving you a run for your money! :D

I seen about 30 Bimmers heading to Heartland on my way into work last friday. Too bad the event was midday on a Friday or I would have come to watch.

What day was your AutoX?

Yep, it’s a ton of fun, though a bit understeer-prone at the moment. Hoping some swaybar adjustments will help fix that since I can’t do much more with my alignment. The fiance took to it a lot faster than either of us expected, and I’d daresay he’s a bit smarter than me as well, so I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before he catches up lol.

This one was last Sunday at Metropolitan Community College’s Precision Driving Center in Independence, MO. The KC and Kansas Regions do joint events at Heartland Park 2-3 times per year and the first one is coming up later this month.

Dang, I’ll be out of town at the end of the month so I’ll miss this one. At some point I’ll get in one.

This looks like an insanely fun course. I love that sort of sweeper, always great fun in a Miata. Getting a high finish in PAX is even more amazing to me though! Haha I am used to finishing in the ~80+ range out of 130 or so cars thanks to running CSP. This is why I only look at raw time, then I am at least in the top half!
