Kinja'd!!!

My girl and I decided to take a trip up to the Grand Canyon this weekend. I spotted this sweet ride when we came out of a local tourist information center. Naturally, she didn’t understand my fascination with this “old truck”.

Can anyone identify the plate that it’s running?

My wife and I were also there this weekend. Stayed in Sedona, got up early on Friday to beat the crowds in, hiked Kaibob South to Cedar Point before it got too hot. Had lunch at El Tovar and checked out a few other stops. Great day. It was her first time there - well worth the trip.

False. Grand Canyon is in Arizona.

Apparently we should have had an Oppo Grand Canyon meet... My wife and I were also there this weekend! We stayed at the Maswik!

Also, good Lord Arizona— is an extremely windy place!

We stayed in Williams and spotted this at the visitor center there on Route 66. Sounds like you had a great trip too. We mostly stuck to driving the rim and visiting the tower.

Wow, maybe we should! That would be a really cool place to have one.

It seemed uncharacteristicly windy this weekend. But, I’m from Phoenix, so, maybe the GC is just like that.

Very cool! Thanks for that info. I didnt realize that you could drive in the US with foreign plates...

but I guess people from Mexico and Canada do it all the time. LOL

You know why Flagstaff is so windy?

Because it blows.

You can drive in many foreign countries for so many months using foreign registered vehicles.

I saw one from KZ once, which I eventually realised was Kazakhstan.

Heh.

But seriously, the old Suburban couldn’t hold overdrive on the freeway at 75 mph driving into that wind. Somehow I still averaged 15.7 mpg, though!

My neighbour was down there about a month ago with his travel trailer in tow... He had to seek shelter and wait out the wind on the way home because of 80 mph gusts!
