They’re bringing back the combo of highest output engine and manual trans, which hasn’t happened for the Accord sedan since 2007. If the market demands a fake engine note (that we can hopefully disable) and we get some power with a decent manual in the bargain, bring it on. It’s not like this is strictly a Honda thing.

I don’t mind it, even the fake noise. Well, the fake noise is probably dumb.
No it’s not an NA V6 powerband but for its intended purpose of being the upgrade engine option in a vaguely sporty large family sedan this works fine.
It makes sense that Honda would take the Civic Type-R motor and tune it to run on regular fuel in other more-mainstream cars, for economies of scale.
At least there’s still a manual transmission option for the select few people out there who want a manual transmission family sedan.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see this engine spread across the larger cars in the Honda/Acura lineup that are based on the Accord.
