My 16yo son has a triathlon in Monroe on June 24, so we are going to come back to Seattle that afternoon and then leave Sunday evening. We’ve done this race before, so have done the “normal” tourist stuff (Space Needle, Pike Place, Aquarium and Pier 57 area, ferry to Bainbridge Island, etc.). What should we see/go do this time? Restaurant in downtown Seattle area that you’d recommend? Thanks!

Museum of Flight? Boeing Tour? Lemay Museum or Lemay @Marymount down in the Tacoma area? West Seattle is pretty fun.
In Seattle go see the Troll, head to the Ballard Locks. Go north up to LaConner or Bellingham.

You should go to the excellent Museum of Flight to see airplanes and space shuttles and such. Or if you like art, the combination of the Olympic Sculpture Park and Seattle Art Museum would be a nice afternoon. Also, the Seattle Underground tour is touristy but pretty interesting if you’re at all interested in history. I have many suggestions for restaurants downtown and in Pioneer Square depending on what you like to eat and your budget (I work downtown). But if you take my Museum of Flight suggestion, consider eating nearby in Georgetown, such as Jack’s BBQ (barbecue, obviously) or Fonda La Catrina (Mexican).

Living Computer Museum. Best computer museum in the country, especially if you’re a nerd.
Go to Fremont and find the Lenin statue, then walk like 2-3 blocks to see the Fremont Troll (there’s almost no parking anywhere in the area).
As mentioned, the Ballard Locks are worth visiting, but often full of tourists. I also approve of the Seattle Underground tour, which is quite interesting in spite of being touristy.
