Kinja'd!!!

New tires, a good service and a inside/out cleanup. The roads are great around Le Mans, and I fully intend to take advantage of that next weekend! Can’t wait to be at the track. Le Mans weekend is best weekend!

I bought the exact same Michelin Eco-thingy tires that it had before, because they are longlasting, good for fuel, and on top of that provide sufficient grip for good lap of the Ring. No reason to look elsewhere!

The garage did come up with a worrying list of expensive things needing fixing, but I guess we’ll see about that after Le Mans.

Vive la Clio!

I understand why you stick to the eco tires, I feel similar about my Continental EcoContacts.

What are the expensive things you need to fix?

The Mk2 is a great solid little cars. At one point every street had about two on.

Nice Sport headlights.

Rear lights, could do with a little upgrade to Mk2 Phase 2.

Rear wheels bearings, gearbox/engine mounts, and a driveshaft coupling that’s leaking. Not great news! It’ll probably get to the point where I’ll have to pay about the value of the car to get it fixed, which will bring tough decisions.

Here they make up about a third of every street! And I’m not that big of a fan of Phase 2 rear lights, to be honest.

Damn, that’s quite the list, separately they are doable, but all together it gets quite expensive indeed. I totally get that this puts you in front of a tough decision.

I like them but I’ve had to buy the Lexus style rear ones before for people I know, now they are awful.

Yeah, I’ll get a quote on all this and see what I do then. I want to keep it obviously, plus the fact that other than these it’s a pretty solid car and you never know what you get from another one. We’ll see!
