That is one clean looking car!! I seriously wish we had more of these on the road. They’re fun looking cars and would make the streets more enoyable zipping around.

We had to service one at work a few months ago. I had to search web for some info because GM has already wiped the servers clean of repair information and couldn’t find a dealership with a paper manual on a shelf. Its a shame. Thank god for owners forums, if not for them I wouldn’t have found what I was looking for.

Thanks! She took pretty well do the polishing I did after I picked her up. 89k miles now, and only going up.

I agree, it’s been a long time since there were many that I saw as just regular “traffic.” But I did see a pretty aged looking black one in a parking lot last year. Aside from that, it’s primarily cruises and club member’s cars that I see driving around.

I can’t hold GM too accountable for that. It was 29 years ago when the last one rolled off the assembly line. (I drove past the plant once last year, and I didn’t even realize I missed it... been closed down for a long time, and that’s not a very good part of Michigan anymore.) I’m more amazed that someone took it to a dealer for service at this point!

Its a problem more than you think. With server space taking up so little room and GM deleting older service info it makes it tough for us when customers call and want information that isn’t easily searched on the web. We need older stuff at least once a month and have to shoot at the hip to make some repairs. Even our experienced techs see the issue with it. One dealership here in Ohio will no longer service cars past 10 yrs if age due to parts being discontinued more and the lack of GM service support.

Does Alldata provide what’s being removed from GM’s servers? I can see how it would be beneficial for everyone if it was still available straight from GM (some customers only know the dealer as an option, and have never heard of Alldata and I’m not sure even where to go locally to access it...).

10 years is not an old car like it used to be. That’s counterproductive, if you ask me.

Alldata has web subscriptions for pro and DIY users. Some of the info was archived by them from the old GM stuff but it didn’t contain all the original GM content. There is an Alldatadiy.com site for most cars for the average guy. Its ok but like I said not complete. Still better than a Haynes manual. There is also Mitchell who supplies car repair info. The Autozones used to provide that service to small shops through them but not sure if thats still a thing. It cam on CD at one point and I have a few from friends that I can still access on european makes and a few years of Fords.
