Looks really good.
Can’t beat a good steak, mash and glass bottle of red wine.
Enjoy.

I’d like an invitation to whatever you consider a formal event, please.
My lunch is a bowl of oatmeal. When my girls are out of town, I revert to bachelor subsistence mode.

I had a lazy meal and considering a Chinese take away later on.

Oh, can’t beat Chinese take out for a no effort meal! If I can restrain myself, it’s good for at least one more meal the next day, too.

I’ve been really good lately and making my orders last for two meals.
Though my colleagues think it’ll still feed four or five people.

Wasn’t mashed potatoes, had risotto. I’m not really a big fan of mashed potatoes for some reason, but I do love me some risotto.

Very nice indeed.
The trick with mash is using the right potatoes. Maris Piper potatoes are generally a good standard all rounder for chips, mash and jackets. While a good buttery potato such as Marabels have a natural creamy-ness and less starchy.
The good old method of using a masher (some use a processor or blender which destroys the potato and it’s flavour) with a little milk, proper butter and a little salt and pepper.
