Well, Oppo, It’s been a year. Though I might not be around much, I still enjoy seeing this great community that has been built around so many fantastic interests. I admit: I’ve been a bit lazy. High school has been long and tough this year. That is why I haven’t been able to keep up with y’all. That is going to change again, though. Final exams are this week! After that, I’m free to hang with you and the Lald community once again. Until then, I just wanna say it’s been a great first year, and I’m ready for round two! Can’t wait!

Also, never forget the wondrous Honda CR-Z! For fun, here is my Oppo debut post. Nothing too special, but well worth the trouble. Tell me about your summer plans, too! I need some conversation, it’s been too long, Oppo.

Summer plans - boost the Miata into 275ish hp territory and go on as many roadtrips as possible, crushing the dreams of stoplight racers along the way.

Also, good on you for joining in high school. You’ll be an automotive genius at a young age with all the info that gets thrown around here!

Summer plans? Find a job after my Term teaching position is over so I don’t have to go back to shitty Tim Hortons (it sucks as an employee, the food is good though!)....also continue saving for and dreaming about importing my 126 from Poland! :P

That sounds like a heap of fun! Yes, I can’t wait to use my knowledge in the real world, and have y’all to thank for most of it!

Nice! I remember when Tim Hortons was still in Rhode Island. They did have some nice food. I hope you reach that goal of getting your 126!

I can’t stand working there...have done so on and off since I was in High School and that’s like 14 years ago now....

Really hoping I can get another summer job! I actually have $7000 scrimped and saved up for the 126 which, with the exchange rate, should be enough to cover getting it and the shipping back to Canada, but my issue is the lack of a permanent job and still living at mom’s place (30 and still living at home, sad I know).

I want my own place, but I hate signing a year lease on an apartment not knowing where I will be working in the next few months...I don’t want to get the FIAT or move into my own place until I have something permanent so I can settle. I’ve been saving up a downpayment on a house as well as I don’t want to blow the money on an apartment where I get nothing back in the end, so slowly but surely I guess...

Thanks mate!

To answer your thread question, should also mention I have a drivers’ headlight to change on my Accent and a passengers’ side light to try and use some of that headlight restoration stuff on to get it back to a nice clear shine. Need to get the shocks replaced and have a bit of rust on the rear hatch repaired as well!

Anytime! Yeah, headlight restoration is a very good thing to do ... make’s sure you can see safely at night, lol. Pretty shocking if you don’t, hehe. At least you’ll have a smoother ride. You own a hatch? Nice! Don’t let that rust away, lol.

The MC generation Accent is actually very resistant to rust. The rust on mine is because of an idiot garage that dinged my paint when cutting bolts to get a license plate off. I touched up the ding with a gratuitous amount of touch-up paint, but the rust is starting to come through now. I was quoted about $200 to get it redone, so not too bad...
