There politicians generate plenty of waves of insanity, so they can still rule those I guess.

But of course the Brits will be offered all the good stuff from the EU on an a la carte menu ... right?

Yes, they’ll get all the good stuff but none of the bad because they’re so indispensable. /s

Although I honestly feel bad for the Brits that voted Remain, I do hope the EU keeps its back straight.

Nobody is indispensable.

With luck and some strategic road blocks, we might just prevent Trump/Bannon from destroying the EU. At this point, they seem incapable of much, but we should not underestimate their ability to do damage.

I’m fairly certain that Juncker et al will make an example out of it, even if it is just to show the Hungarians and Polish what’s what. May’s “Hard Brexit” rhetoric hasn’t helped either.

The only ones capable of destroying the EU are the EU members and the EU itself. All the Americans can do is drive members apart. I doubt Trump is capable of effectively planning such a thing, but he’s not alone.

I do hope sanity will return to the US White House someday, preferably sooner than later. Trump abdicating won’t be enough, given Pence et al.

May made her own bed, now she must lie in it. I just feel bad for the British citizens.

While I understand that sentiment, I don’t feel bad for ALL the British citizens. The older generation voted for this. I feel bad for Josh, Alex, Matt, and the others, their generation will suffer the most.

I like to bitch about what we call babyboomers (1945-1955, the 55-65 decade added for ‘reasons’) which is slightly different from the German definition. It’s part tongue in cheek, part serious. I call them the locust generation. They became adults after their parents had rebuilt the country, they cleaned it out entirely and have the guts to keep complaining despite being the most prosperous generation ever while having had kids and grandkids that won’t have it as good as they did. The ‘boomers rightfully kicked out the olds in the late 60s, it’s time for us to do same and kick out the ‘boomers.

My parents are ‘boomers too (1952 and ‘53) and I know many are decent people. The generation as a whole frustrates me though. All they care about is themselves.
