Kinja'd!!!

It could be that Lambo you had on your bedroom wall as a kid. Or the Jaguar E-type you never knew about until that flashback article in Car and Driver. Or maybe it’s a bug eye WRX STI, because obviously.

What’s your favorite car? The one you’d seek out and buy if you won the lottery? For me it’s a Carrera RS 2.7, narrowly beating a Mercedes SL gullwing, a Ferrari GTC4 Lusso (in Azzurro California blue please) and an E30 M3.

The e46 M3. I’ve wanted this car since forever. Yes, there are faster cars and there are sportier cars. I don’t care. I want it. The timeless design and the sound of that straight 6 is my addiction. It’s what really got me into cars.

Kinja'd!!!

Second up is the e39 M5. Again, timeless and beautiful. That v8 is also a dream to drive apparently.

Yes, I am a BMW fan. I know they’re expensive to maintain and you can get a Japanese car that only needs oil changes. I don’t care. Cars as a hobby is not logical. The cars require obscure and expensive maintenance but it’s a labor of love. It’s more like a relationship than any other car. You love it and you have to keep working to maintain it. Put in the effort and it’ll last. You can keep your Miatas and save your breath. The BMWs speak to me in a way no Miata has ever done and most likely ever will. Haters gonna hate.

Years from now I believe E46 M3s will be the most sought after BMWs after E30 M3s.

Alpine A110 1600SC.

And not any... My father’s and no other. A car I’ll never sell until I die.

I can believe it. The s54 is a silky smooth engine and the power output was bonkers when it came out. I struggle now though. I’ve always wanted the e46 M3 and yet now that I’m starting to save for an M3, I suddenly want an e90 M3. Maybe it’s the fact that I subconsciously know it’ll have to shuttle kids around shortly after I can realistically afford it. But every time I think about the e46 I still feel that slight tingle when I was a kid/college student that kept me going when all hope seemed lost. I’m really not sure which would be better.

I was close to going Singer 911, but to me that’s a restomodded Carrera RS... not that there is anything wrong with that.

Well I like a lot of cars, but if it had to come down to one, well how do you turn down a raw 60's V12 Ferrari race car? The fucking sound these make... I drive a 240Z, the poor man’s 250 GTO.

Red with white coves and red interior, and of course the 4 speed manual.

It is also the car I’m affraid to buy “in a never meet your heroes” kind of way. I saw a few of them at car meets, but what really breaks the myth for me is working on a car or seeing it regularly. For example, i’m not impressed by a Delorean anymore.

I think this is a hard question. I like the NSX a lot, but if money was no object...Is a Carrera GT better? Of course. Would I prefer a Carrera GT? Of course. If I had the money for a Carrera GT I’d probably buy both.

Maybe the answer is Carrera GT. But then...would I prefer a Koenigsegg? A Spyker? I don’t know. Again, if I had one I’d have them all.

Money and performance ruin this question.

The 993-gen 911 Turbo. I’ve wanted one since I saw the magazine ad in the ‘90s. This and the ‘97 Integra Type-R have guaranteed spaces in my garage.
