You know how grown ups have 5 year plans where they want to advance their careers, buy a house, have a kid? Well here’s mine.
1, Continue having a job, maybe move up in my company and make more money whatever.
2, Keep being a Dad, try not to suck at it.
3, Keep fixing your Galant until it is an unstoppable Rally beast, and can also do 300 miles road trips.
4, Buy a 1990-1991 Civic hatchback, make it a fun DD.
5, but a SN95 Mustang GT, learn to drive RWD on dirt.
6, don’t get devoreced/ treat wife good enough she won’t realize she’s better off without your dumbass.
I figure if I if I can manage all of these things I’ll be doing pretty damn well for myself.

This is an excellent 5 year plan. My plan is fairly similar but instead of a mustang I hope to be buying a detached garage.

I should have added buy second house. I’m in the process of buying our first house, which will be a duplex, that we already live in. The plan is to move out and rent both apartments. When moving of here happened it will be into a house, out of town with _at lest 5 acres and a pole shed for wrenching/car storage.

Here’s mine:
1) Graduate College
2) get good job
3) buy practical car like a Clubman Cooper S
4) build current Mini into G2 rally car
Bonus would be finding future Mrs Squirrel at some point.

Not bad, graduating College is a good idea. I didn’t do that, so now I just have the student loans an no degree. It sucks. It literally the most expensive mistake I’ve ever made. And I only did a year and half of tech school. But I’m sure with interest that’ll end up costing me over 10 grand when it’s paid off.

Nice! Yeah if you can afford to keep the old house as a rental property that is a great plan.
We actually just moved into our second house a few months ago. The only compromise was the single car attached garage. But we have the space for a detached garage in the back so hopefully I can make that happen sometime in the next 5~7 years.

Communists have 5 year plans. I appraise opportunities as they come along.

1. Buy new DD (will start the process this summer, currently leaning towards an EP3)
2. Sell off the 3rd gen and 4th gen Preludes once I get the issues sorted out
3. Finally, finally, FINALLY resume modifying the 5th gen
4. (brace yourself) get a vasectomy. I ain’t having kids.
5. Visit Europe
6. Get another promotion and buy a Civic Type R (whether that’s an FK8 or an EK9, which will be importable in 2022, I don’t know)
Much as I’d like to get married, I doubt I will. And I’m not just talking about within the next 5 years.
