There was also Lynn Strait of Snot and Brad Nowell of Sublime. I saw Sublime in 94 at The Warped Tour and they were pretty great. Snot was a much better band than all of the shitty bands that were on his tribute album.

Seattle native here that lived the scene. I mourned more for Shannon and Brad (Sublime) than I did for Kurt. Although losing Chris recently really got to me.

Had tickets to see them, he died 3 weeks before. I did see them open for Kravitz in the early 90's which got me in to them. No Rain is nothing like what Blind Melon sounds like, and live they left nothing for Lenny to follow.

A friend told me the story of being at the notorious show where he urinated on the crowd. My initial response was “You lucky guy, you witnessed history”. The look he gave me, I will never forget. It was most definitely not cool at the time.

What an artist though.
