After one of the shittiest weeks ever, I cut may day short today. My wife and I took Toby out to lunch at a dog friendly patio restaurant. I did a little work, and then took a ride on the Vespa to order the custom decals.

$35 for three that will be done next week. Not bad. This project is taking shape. Everyone wants me to fire my bookkeeper, but I won’t. It is easy to say you should take someone’s job away, but you can really mess up someone’s life and should not make such decision lightly

Neither you nor she are in an enviable position.

You had an eye problem: you couldn’t see yourself staying at the office.

I’m really impressed by how kind you’re being to your bookkeeper. I hope I could do the same under those circumstances.

Yeah that is a tough decision. And whichever one you choose you will just have to move on knowing it was what you thought was best.

You’re a good man. I’m sure she’s beside herself as is.

I don’t know, nor do I need to, what your personal source of morality is or where it comes from.

I will say however that your decision to keep you bookkeeper shows a strong moral fiber, excellent character, and a kind, humble heart. Yes, from a business perspective you should absolutely let her go. But far too often all we think about is how things affect business in this country, not the people who make a business work.

You Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. I applaud your conviction and though the chances are we will never meet in person; should that occur consider the first beer as my gift to you.

May you have a restful weekend. And I am hopeful that your good deed will came to repay you.

I understand you with the need for a mental health day. I somewhat did the same for myself today, Still went to work but couldn’t sleep well so I ended up about two and a half hours early and treated myself to a nice drive and walk and breakfast before 9AM. I’ve been stressed because my girlfriend who I own a home with, just lost her job, because her boss is quite the opposite of you. He only cares about if he is making an extra dime. And on top of that she was the employee with the longest tenure in the company.
