Whelp, if you don’t like the styling of the Civic Si then you can get a brand new 2017 Elantra Sport with between $4,000 to nearly $7,500 off MSRP right now! That’s a 201 hp, 195 lb-ft, 6-speed manual (or 7DCT), efficient, reliable, long warranty-having weekend autocrosser for $15,500 to $19,000. Original MSRP was about $22,800 to $25,200. And it actually drives well!

Come on guys, even you all have to admit this is the enthusiast special you all have been begging for.

But Whipples, I hate sedans!!

My Muffin, dumpling, biscuit baby...the hatchback Elantra GT Sport comes out this year. Just keep in mind that the hatches aren’t getting the same kind of incentives sedans are.

What’s funny is seeing the two that have a $4,500 market adjustment on them. WTF?!

Dont think I’m telling you NOT to buy a FiST. Buy a FiST! I already talked about how the car is so great and so cheap that it has completely blocked out any other automakers from offering a competitor.

i think it’s more than just tranny/engine that makes the FiST so special. but yeah this is a pretty tempting deal if that’s your market segment.

It’s a combination of the chassis tuning, suspension, and simply how it makes you feel. A Hyundai makes you hate life.

I know looks are subjective, but I think the Elantra is hideous and the Civic Si sedan is fantastic. You’re right, though, it does seem like a good deal based on what you get for the price with discounts.

And give it any feel.

I’m still in the honeymoon phase (Just 3 days now!) but I just don’t understand how anything else can be this fun. It’s just ridiculous.

But that’s a great deal, I would’ve been a little bit tempted if I hadn’t got this car yet. Actually maybe not....

I think the Elantra looks decent, but the hatch is awful.

I think the seats are very comfortable. It’s not really a driver’s car, though. Almost there, and it’s fun, it’s just no ST. And, no stick with the hatchback which is annoying.

It would be a VERY tough choice between an Elantra Sport and Civic Si for me.

Im just waiting for the new GLI with the updated 2.0 motor so it can be easily tuned to 380hp.

Good news for Hyundai then, since the 20+ year success story that is the Camry proves that the I hate life segment of the car market is yuuuuuuge.

To be fair, the Camry could do that because it’s competition sucked. And now it’s apparently nice to drive according to Motortrend.

Wow.. with todays car prices, it’s good to see one can still get a good, practical car for under $20k. I can’t understand why anyone would buy a Chevy Spark, or a Mitsubishi Mirage over the Elantra.
