man, it was a loss when Larson put his pen down for good. But the last “Far Side Gallery” from about 20 years ago, you could tell in the last 1/3rd of it he was phoning it in.

I dunno, Gallery 5 was the first Far Side book I ever had, and a lot of the material in it has aged quite well. Peak was probably around Gallery 3, but I wouldn’t call Gallery 5 bad. I mean, it had the elephant in the trenchcoat one, for one, IIRC:

No, I must be mis-remembering. Now I don’t think it was a Far Side Gallery book; I think it came out some time after Gallery 5. The last dozen or so pages were in color.

Yeah, I even have Prime, and the need to pick up some roof sealant, some books by about four different *novel* authors to round out collections, so it looks like I have something else to add for when payday rolls around (Tuesday) and should pull the trigger.
