And why is it that they have STILL not made it so that when you scroll down every comment shows up? I dont want to have to click show all comments and then show hidden comments every single fucking time. Its so simple to just make the website work and have article —-> comments section

I’m pretty sure it is designed to get “clicks” and hence revenue. If you accidentally scroll down to far into the next article it counts as a click and they can bill for it.

I actually kinda like infinity scroll. Commenting can be more direct, but it’s only a few extra clicks.
I think it’s funny how everyone is always complaining about Kinja. I know this is a low bar, but it has never crashed on us, never was unusable for long, and something I think we’re all forgetting is that Oppo is free.
How are we going to complain about clicking two or three times to have a free platform to talk about cars on?

This is proving exceptionally frustrating when clicking a permalink to a comment. The comments are all collapsed, webpage tries to scroll down to a comment, infishit scroll loads the next article and you’re reading something about a totally different subject you’d rather not.

Exactly. Sure, I appreciate how the pending system hides spam, but I always click “show pending” because there are a LOT of good comments by users who just haven’t been “approved” yet.
But it’s not just the pending comments that get frustrating. One of the things that I miss the most is the ability to open ALL comments, instead of having to repeatedly click “show more comments, show more comments”. I want to open up the comment section and run a quick CTRL+F to see if somebody already said what I was about to say. ’Cuz I don’t want to clutter the comment section by making the exact same comment as somebody else. No, I want to give them a star and support them.

Do we need to start letting Kinja Support know which features we LIKE about Kinja? Do we need to send them messages like “permalinks are great, please don’t take away that functionality” or “comment threads are great, please don’t suddenly make every comment a direct response to the main article”?

Picture uploads break occasionally (sometimes down hours, sometimes days—often follows new features), sometimes kinja completely forgets it’s blog connections and just shows a kinja error (generally up within a couple hours—completely random), most of the time for me the comment section has a seizure on initial loading (features spread everywhere they shouldn’t be—goes away after refreshing), the fact that the new features generally don’t work properly for a few days (especially annoying when the changes are to the notification bar), notifications not working properly, etc.
I’d say you’re partly right about people not liking change, but if:
a) The changes actually worked properly when implemented; and
b) The changes added useful functionality occasionally and didn’t instead remove it (thinking annotations here)
Then I think there would be a lot less kickback. Both about changes in general and even with stupid additions of “functionality” like infishit scroll.
