Fellow blinkerless oppos, it is time for me to replace the battery in my wife’s X1. Any battery suggestions for a BMW. I have software that lets me register the battery myself. Thanks!

Welcome to the wonderful world of BMW ownership.

I have a program on my iPhone that lets me do it along with a host of other features. My dealership charges $160 to register a battery. They wanted $460 for a new battery.

E6X, E9X, E7X, E8X and F,G chassis BMWs need their battery “registered” to prevent overcharge or undercharge

Really anything is fine if you can register it. I have a Bosch that my indy mechanic got me for like $125. Check RealOEM with the last 7 digits of your VIN to see what Ah rating your stock battery was then try to get close to it.

That’s more than likely an AGM, I’d try to stick with a Deka or Varta made battery, US or German made.
